In many homes it’s:
movie night.
Parents just because you buy the snacks doesn’t mean…
your children have to share what you individually gifted them.
Big government?
Get your own snack. You could’ve got your own bag or box.
Sovereignty.
The other day I was at a juice bar. I bought each of the boys their own juice. They made their selections. Each different. I wanted a sample, but knew that asking my boys for a sip didn’t guarantee I’d have my way.
Thankfully, they each were willing to let me sip.
A dad was next to me and told me that he tells his kids that since he bought it and paid for the ish he can do as he pleases. (paraphrasing)
I told him yea…I get that…I allow my kids to tell me “no” so they can feel comfortable doing it outside the home. If they can’t tell me no – they may be hesitant to tell others “no”.
Shoot…just yesterday I was at my desk and Queen Glory came down with a snack bowl. I wanted some. I asked her. She gave me one. King Elijah told her “Remember, you don’t have to say “yes”. So I asked Queen Glory for 2 more pieces. She said, ” No, thank you.” Went on her way and I went on mine.

I am so pleased when this happens – even though I wanted more.
I am empowered to drive to the store.
