Oh, if I could talk to my younger self and all:
Youth
I would encourage them to :
not cover up abuse/unacceptable behavior in families, communities, and all established systems.
I would tell my teenage self to snitch early and often!!! I would tell myself that if someone is causing them/others pain “behind closed doors” to:
Sound The Alarm

I would tell my teenage self that if told to lie or be quiet or do anything in secrecy:
Give It More Publicity
If there are feelings of shame, take it as a signal to:
SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT!!!!
I would tell my teenage self that many in positions of power are wounded, causing harm, and lack accountability.
I would tell them that most adults are wounded children with a title – afraid to take a stand when something “seems off”. I would tell my younger self to find bold adults that will be an ally and know how to go it “alone” with the power of Jesus Christ.
I would tell my younger self to be brave and dismantle all facades.

For example – if sitting at a table with a group and an adult puts their hands on you inappropriately under the table, blurt out in front of everyone:
Hey, why is XYZ putting their hand on my knee right now! SUS!
Just don’t care. Keep feasting while they are flabbergasted at how you lit up what was in the dark (Read Ephesians 5.).
“For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed ” John 3:20
Watch their face change in disbelief. The aftermath – is not your business, you’ve been set free from foolery!
Let them pick up the pieces – you are worthy of being whole ( and those coming after you).
