You guys! I am just so amazed! I went to a:
Local Mechanic Shop
– one that specializes in German cars. This was my first time going to him.
This mechanic was replacing something for me. In the process of removing a part another part was damaged. This mechanic called and told me what happened. I was very calm and unbothered. He told me he could patch the part he dinged, but that he was replacing the part fully.
The radiator.
I asked him if this would cost me. He told me – no, it was on him. I am learning about car parts and labor. I asked him how he felt. Obviously, this isn’t something one desires. He shared he was frustrated but it happens. He let me know that this part costs $600. I informed him that he seems to have integrity.
Just yesterday, I had read his reviews online – ppl drive out of state for him to work on their vehicles. We talked about this. Now, I am not going to pay for this radiator. I will however do some things to express my gratitude. Furthermore, because of his integrity he will most likely get all of my business and more. A 600 dollar hit may turn into him getting 600 new customers if I recommend and then others do the same. I would love for that to happen for him.
How many of us have gone to mechanics had one job done and they accidentally mess something up…patch it and don’t tell us? I’m sure many. This is not me passing blame but awareness of being human.
Yall this man didn’t have to tell me anything. He could’ve said welp let me patch the radiator and move on. But no – he is getting me a new radiator – on brand from my car manufacturer not generic. This makes me think on the scripture on a good name being more desired than riches (Proverbs 22:1) and the verse about a man being skilled in his work going before kings, not being in obscurity (Proverbs 22:29).
It’s hilarious how this mechanic is 10 mins from me – talk about God ordering my steps.

Oh and to top all this off – earlier today before the mechanic call and yesterday – I’ve was moving portable heaters around and watched a film where a radiator was patched and blown out later .
If you have found a service provider with integrity – be sure to express gratitude for them.
