You know what gets me. When people equate being blessed with:
Minimal Suffering.
I be thinking like…so are you saying that those who greatly suffer are cursed and not as blessed and favored as you?
Let’s say there is an accident scene…one walks away with scratches…another loses an arm. Is the one who lost a limb not as blessed as the one who just got scratches?
I also hate this whole “God don’t play about me” trend.
As in, he be taking their enemies out or coming to their aid.
Which I understand happens but what about those who love Jesus and serve him and his ppl, but feel like God be letting people play in their face.

Cause for me…I be like I’m on the punk’d plan… I definitely feel like God be playing with me.
Blessing and favor doesn’t always look like being spared or minimal suffering. For many, it looks like being given the strength and grace to endure while taking heavy hits.
God was well pleased with Jesus and he was crucified for the saving of humanity. Many disciples were murdered.
Would you say they weren’t blessed?
Would you say “God didn’t play about them”?
Don’t come around me claiming blessed, favored, and non playage status because you seemingly “up”.
I love Jesus, but best believe I have told him as recent as today that my faith is wavering – what’s the point and what’s in it for me? I forced myself to blast psalm audio Bible through my phone- whole time like whatever…cause these verses don’t seem to apply to me.
The other day I exclaimed with my children present as I was getting ready -> ” Jesus, where are you? You told me you’d never leave or forsaken me. I feel forsaken.”. My daughter (almost 5) then remarked “Jesus is all around you…you just can’t see him”.
I was thankful for her remark.
Didn’t erase me feeling like God has missed the mark concerning me.
Yes all of the above is selfish sounding AF – but it’s real. That’s why I am breaking free because I tell my Heavenly Father my feelings to get through these dealings.
I hope you do the same and don’t expect a life of ease cause you follow Jesus. I encourage you to stay in prayer, in God’s Word, in community – to be ready to battle to the end!
Have you ever felt like you were on the ‘Punk’d Plan’ with God? How did/do you keep going?
