From ATS Rejections to Soulful Melodies: My Job Search Anthem

Like for real. Should the “Open To Work” peeps on LinkedIn:

Many roles that are posted are already …

filled internally or through those that are well networked. I also understand that the Application Tracking Software is weeding out candidates on the quickness – so resumes are never seen by humans.

In talking to an HR professional she shared with me that the best way to advance in this job market is through your network – who you know. Which is like “Yea Yea, I know”.

I’m starting to really think I’m just not supposed to be in a 9 to 5. That I’m to keep creating and growing my own empire & playing! Despite that – it’s challenging not having the illusion of control and security through a steady paycheck.

One day I applied to a role and got another decline. It hurt, but at the same time “whatever. What’s new?!?”. You know what helped me through the wave of sad feelings that washed over me -> singing a made up song.

Here it is:

I hope it cheers you up if you find yourself down in the job search process.

Sure! I looked like a clown, but it’s better than a depressing frown!

If you’re experiencing unanswered or closed doors – perhaps you are to dig deeper into who God created you to be and birth that from the pain. It make look silly , yet help lift sorrow off of you.

What if your healthy creative outlets in your season of waiting positions you to be able to live out of being you? and not just live – but thrive financially and in all other areas!

Even if you never cross a recruiters mind – know that you have never left God’s hand!

Provision is your portion.

Don’t believe me? I get it. Trust me with a healthy dose of discernment – I’m flawed AFizzle.

Check out the bible scriptures in this post.

Here are a few:

  • Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
  • Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you…”
  • Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

You are being taken care of even if you feel God should be going about it differently.

What if you’re a millionaire and in God’s goodness he hasn’t released the opportunity that will position you for that because you have more growth to do?

Use the season of “no” and “redirection” to form a deeper connection with Jesus and to who you are at your core.

Have you ever found a hidden talent or a new spark of joy in the middle of a difficult season? I’d love to hear your story in the comments below.

Love,
