Friend. Use wisdom. Do not ever just:
Take Their Word
Listen with love while keeping a heavy dose of ” hold up wait a minute”…
When there is secrecy and ” I can’t provide those records” – pause.
When there is rushing to decide and make major actions – pause.
It’s giving shadows and darkness.
If ish isn’t in the light, something ain’t right.

Get an outside analysis and/or opinion from one that is an expert in that area of question. If not an expert – one that is more skilled than you – in that zone. Go to one who is not connected to the person, product, or organization – that you are auditing.
Today, there was a product of interest to me. I noticed some things that were like ehhhhh – despite the salesman being like ” oh, welll comes with the territory”. I was considering settling, but felt uneasy about going against my initial observations and insufficient records. I decided to not sign anything until I had a third party inspection completed.
I used the tools I had to identify some persons/companies that can handle an inspection for me on short notice.

By the grace of God, I crossed paths with a man whom I’ll refer to as:
Due Diligence Douglas
For free, he helped me! He reviewed a product quickly for me and let me know if it passed his inspection. There was nothing in it for him other than wanting to keep his word and serve well. After his review, he came to me and said no go – then explained to me why. As a result of this step, I avoided investing in a product with issues. I learned a lot from him, quickly. I thanked D3!
Long story long – I came back to him with another product and he gave me the greenlight! YAY!

Friend – discernment and due diligence is the way to move. Don’t be afraid to walk away or to create distance for inspections.
Rushing recklessly ahead can result in your unnecessary crushing! Take your time for a worthy find.
Before I dip, keep this checklist in your back pocket:
1. The “Hold Up” Red Flags
If you encounter any of these, it is an immediate signal to pause:
- Secrecy: “I can’t provide those records” or “That’s internal information.”
- Rushing: “This deal expires today” or “I have five other people calling about this.”
- Dismissiveness: Brushing off your concerns as “normal” or “minor issues.”
2. The D3 Rule (Due Diligence & Discovery)
Never rely solely on the person selling the product. Seek out a “Due Diligence Douglas”—a third-party expert who meets these criteria:
- Neutrality: They have nothing to gain whether you buy it or not.
- Expertise: They have a higher skill level in that specific “zone” than you do.
- Integrity: They value their word and service over a quick buck.
3. The Inspection Workflow
- Initial Observation: Does it pass your “eye test”?
- Request Records: Are they transparent or evasive?
- Third-Party Audit: Bring in your expert for a “no-go” or “greenlight.”
- Final Decision: If it’s not a “Yes,” it’s a “No.”
Love you!
Lonisa
