DIY New Year’s Eve Countdown Bags

This year, create hours of anticipation with these

adorable DIY Countdown Bags.

From 6pm to midnight – you will open these bags that are filled with goodies! Each bag will have a clock on it to reflect the time that the bag will be opened.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Family & Friends!!! 🙂
  • 7 white bags (paper)
  • Paint (various colors)
  • White circle stickers
  • Markers
  • Fillers Of Your Choice (Lo’s Ideas: silly string, glow sticks, candy, encouraging notes, bubbles, snacks, gift cards, confetti, etc.)

This DIY project is a fantastic way to make New Year’s Eve more interactive and memorable for your crew. I recommend having an adult or older kid draw the circles on the bags – then have the younger kids paint them in! Be prepared to help write down the numbers for the clock and draw the clock hands. On the bottom of the bags, write the name of the one who painted the bag and their age. Keepsake. 🙂

Imagine pulling these bags out year after year or passing them down! There are so many fun ways to fill them – in age appropriate ways! Need ideas? Check out this reveal for the 2025 filled bags.

The ones featured here are from a few years ago. 🥰

Get creative, have fun, and ring in the New Year with a bang!
