Propelled by Pain: Turning the Blast Radius of Failure into Forward Momentum

Sometimes I’m nervous to take the next step because of:

I’ve noticed my previous steps have resulted in some type of …

explosion of pain and suffering.

Not all the time.

But often enough – for me to be like….” Ehhh, Imma chill”.

My desire to avoid any more “explosions”—was a deeply programmed coping mechanism. It felt like protection, but it is/was actually just calculated stagnation. Except the calculations are off cause the math just ain’t math’n – cause lack of progress! To move past it, I had to stop seeing it as a simple case of procrastination and start seeing it as a complex strategy I developed. Okay, fine let me drop the cover up – it wasn’t strategy:

It was fear.

Labeling this pattern was the first step toward dismantling it. If you’ve ever felt stuck, this framework might help you define what’s truly holding you back:

So what now?!? Accept that safety does not exist! It’s made up! There will always be change, collisions, and stuff happening – that is just like “Seriously! What the mothafoolakie wakada bakada!”.

Do you think standing still will stop the thrills of life from happening?

Think about your car: stop driving your car for a year. Leave it in park. It might avoid being hit on the road, but it will have rotted and deteriorated from inaction!

I’ve decided to accept that not moving is also a step and does not equal “safety”.

Perhaps the best course of action is just to keep leaping and use the impact of the previous explosion to propel ourselves into the next step or season.

Less recovery – more taking of territory!

Remember – God knows how to blow up your spot to get you out of stagnation.

Taking Territory, Not Trauma,
