The Biggest April Fool’s Joke? Blaming Others for Your Own Choices

This April, let’s stop foolishly absolving ourselves of:

Blaming others for our experiences as if we didn’t play a part… Eew. 🤮

“A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord” Proverbs 19:3

Q2 is here – we all have access to the mirror.

Followers of Jesus let’s remain in God’s word #Bible so we maintain the proper perspective on our choices and present day options.

We are not to bully ourselves about our past and present circumstances, but let’s:

Ooh it is uncomfortable at first- to stare yourself straight on and be like, “Yes I brought that on myself!” – but the transformation is worth it.

Let it simmer for a little bit.

Someone get up in your face? – identify your poor choice(s) that led/keep you there.

Thousands of dollars in debt? – identify your poor choice(s) that led/keep you there.

Fear speaking in front of people? – identify your poor choice(s) that led/keep you there.

I’ve sobbed and become angry with myself at some of the moves I have made, even have gotten upset with God.

Are we ready to be delivered from foolishness?

When the feelings of discomfort lift, we will discover that the gift of :

is readily available! We are free to begin again with wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit!

We are not alone – God is with us and equipped us to be strong through Jesus! Give God glory by owning the gritty parts of your story which includes your poor choices.

Who and/or what are you going to stop blaming for your present circumstance(s)?

What difficult challenges are you going to demolish with personal accountability?

It will require grit and you may throw lots of fits, but the weight of victimhood will be lifted.
