Helping Kids Grow For Their Next Level

Oh, it is so fulfilling watching kiddos embark on their:

I’ve been getting my children plugged into extracurricular activities and they are soaring!

Each of them confidently step into new spaces without looking back. They walk right in and get straight to:

If you’re a parent or caregiver – I encourage you to take notes on your kiddos natural interests & mannerisms. They may find it useful if they get older and forget what they enjoy! Sometimes with the stresses and demands of life, the grown big kids forget what it is like to just be and play!

As a mama, one of my goals is to expose my kids to different activities to help them learn more about the gifts and talents that God has placed inside of them.

I’m just so amazed at what I’m seeing unfold! It’s a gift to have this front row seat.

As a homeschooling parent, I have lots of time to see my kids:

Here’s my observations on the Johnson Jungle Kids!

King Caleb

is great with remembering information (#trivia), a top notch negotiator, and strategic.

Let’s talk about these eyebrows!!! 🙂

He loves virtual reality and is getting good with video editing! He is skilled at building in the physical and virtual! Caleb challenges more seasoned leaders and continues to grow in expressing his frustrations.

King Caleb building his own desk! He values helping others build, but not doing all the work for them.

He also cooks yummy meals, like for real good, not the “good” where it’s really absolutely disgusting! He is a phenomenal leader that looks out for his siblings and checks them too. Caleb enjoys war history and winning ! & more!

King Elijah

is the master of being in his own world and is quirky with lots of energy. When he cares you know and when he doesn’t it is very clear!

Let’s talk about these dimples! 🙂

He is hilarious without trying and knows how to give subtle one liner zingers. He is a quick learner (when he cares about the subject), observant, and feels very deeply – filled with lots of practical wisdom. Elijah challenges himself and is up for trying new things, even mastering new cooking dishes!

King Elijah boldly goes after creating new dishes. His stuffed pepper dish is delicous!

He is playful with his sister and is practicing using his voice when communicating with his big brother + others. Elijah knows how to memorize a script quickly and confidently perform it in front of others! & more!

Queen Glory

is a girly girl (fashion, makeup, hair, etc.) that loves to sing and twirl!

Let’s talk about this lewk! 🙂 Queen Glory is selective with her kisses and is practicing her body boundary phrases.

She loves being on video and taking pictures. She is vocal about being self-sufficient, stating “let me do it by myself” and “let me try first” – showcasing lots of independence. Glory is learning that the blessing of outer beauty is not more valuable than inner beauty (including intelligence).

Queen Glory is comfortable singing in front of family and dancing while adventuring!

She enjoys drawing, painting, numbers, and playing at playgrounds. She is decisive, speaks up for herself, and will escalate if she is not pleased. & more!

As much as I support my children in their growth – I am sure to do the same for myself. Let’s not nudge our kids to take leaps, while staying in a spectator seat of own life. I want my kids to see that lifelong playing never ends.

Partnering with God to stir up the gifts and talents within my children & self! Playing at the #buddingbillionaire Bubble.

For me, that looks like:

  • Writing
  • Filming
  • Bowling
  • Self Defense
  • Drawing
  • Floral Design
  • Fashion
  • & more

What does play look like for you?

If you are having trouble remembering – consider asking your parent/caregiver & close family/friends for clues from your childhood. Looking at pictures and videos may help you dig up your hidden interests! Observing your children’s play may assist you in discovering your play zones! They grow and you grow too!

As everyone reaches new heights, remember that constructive feedback is a gift. When you give your kids feedback make sure to allow space for them to give you feedback too (without retaliation). Write down what your kids share with you – challenging yourself to improve a few callouts. This feedback can be received as you do life, via 1:1 dates with your kids, and/or during monthly dine-out meal/hangouts. Sometimes, I will circle back and ask if they think I am “doing better”. This feedback loop assists in collective family growth.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord…” Psalms 127:3-5

When focusing on your interests and responsibilities, consider up-leveling from saying “I have to work” to ” I get to play!”. Sounds a lot more fun!!! I used to tell Queen Glory that I was going on my computer to work, but now I tell her I’m going to play! I smile when she asks me:

So now I ask you the same question!

Have a goal you want to tackle? Know God has equipped you, step out, and grow for it!

Lovely, Did you play today?!?
