Is this too much? That is what I asked one of my sons after I paired:
Sequin Feather Pants With A Bright Tulle Skirt
As he washed a dish in the sink, he looked at me and said, “No”. Then when about his business.
I was headed to church and concerns started to bubble up about being too loud and in “your face” with fashion. I was being bombarded with “Who do you think you are?”…”This aint no fashion show!”…”Why do you have to always be soo BOOM in these rooms?”.
Scale back -> you’re trying to get attention -> put on something toned down and “normal”!!!
Hard stop!
As I looked in the mirror, I thought about that question:
Is this too much?
Like what does that even mean really? Isn’t that relative? & who really cares?
I also thought about the person I asked. He often wears his shirts backwards and doesn’t care to turn it around. He has a very “Imma do me” mindset and style. So his response made sense.
I love how he embraces his own world, so much so, that I remind him to protect it.
Had I asked a more reserved person -> I may have gotten a “Yes”.
Would I have listened to their opinion and changed out of something that made me feel playful?
My daughter Queen Glory, 4 years young, puts on what she wants, says “Tadaaaaaaa” to her own self, and sashays along!
She doesn’t give a foolakie – she knows she is cayute.
I wore my “questionable” outfit today.

As I picked up Queen Glory from Sunday School, a girl walking out looked me up and down! She appreciated my gold glitter shoes. We put our feet by each other and she excitedly tells me:
My Shoes Light Up!
We giggled it up as she gave tapped into a light show!
Lovely, someone is waiting for you to:
Be “Too Much” !!!
You can be the glitter, sequins, and tulle – at the same time!

Ruffle the feathers of comfort.
Shine!!!
You’re alive and have lived through all your rough days thus far!
This week, celebrate by wearing that fun party outfit or fashion item that you have tucked away for a “special occasion”!
Consider grabbing my VIVO t-shirt design!

It’s a fashionable reminder to be a “Wow! In a world full of ho hum!”.

Come back and give the deets on your playful expression!
Love,

P.S. If someone asks you, Why are you so dressed up? Tell them you style yourself to match your high expectations! 😉
