Showing Love On A Budget: Dollar Tree Balloons

Hi Lovely! We are just a few days away from:

Running around to get lots of gifts or filling an Amazon cart to overflowing, may be too stressful and performative.

Surrender the stress to Jesus and go for a simple, budget friendly approach.

All you’ll need is a pinch of creativity and a trip to:

to secure balloons.

Dollar Tree is a great place to find pre-filled balloons, especially for Valentine’s Day. Expect to pay $1.50 at your local store. I recommend going a few days early for the best selection.

The location close to me had a sea of balloons floating in the air!

I was impressed with the amount of balloons they had ready to go and their unique designs. They had more than the standard “Happy Valentine’s Day” and ” I Love You” balloons.

To execute this idea – select balloons that fit the message you want to deliver to your loved ones (don’t forget to include yourself). I chose 4 playful balloons with the following sayings:

  • Dinosaur: You Are Dino-Mite
  • Rocket: I love You To the Moon And Back
  • Bear: Bear Hug
  • Dog: I Chews You

These selections fit the personalities of my children! Make selections that fit your crew.

Surprise your loved ones by placing a balloon at their dining spot! It’s a small, yet impactful gesture that will make them feel seen and appreciated. You can even explain why you chose a particular balloon, connecting it to a quality you admire about them.

For example, the “Bear Hug” balloon is for my daughter, Queen Glory. I’ll share with her how she gives the best snuggles, just like a cuddly teddy bear! (Not a wild one! The stuffed kind, hehehehe.)

There is no pressure to tie the balloons to a chair, as pictured above. Tying the balloons around a treat or goodie bag works too! Consider this modification if you’re gifting friends and family at a party or on the go.

In 2024, I wrote encouraging messages & scriptures on my kid’s goodie bags and tied a balloon.

Up-level This Idea:

  • Personalized Balloon: Take a sharpie and write your loved ones name on the balloon with a short personal message. This makes the balloon custom to them and can make them feel even more seen.
  • Heartfelt Note: If you don’t want to mark up the balloons – you can tape on a handwritten note, sharing your love for them and giving encouragement. Consider including Bible scriptures about God’s love for them.
  • Treats At Their Seat: Place their favorite treat at their seat! You can also fill a goodie bag, depending on your budget. Tap into your creativity – the possibilities truly are limitless.

Placing the balloons in a a high traffic area of your dwelling space, creates a fun atmosphere. These balloon messages bring encouragement.

Today, I was feeling a little blah – upon walking into the kitchen I immediately smiled when I read the balloon messages. It’s was a nice pick me up!!! I stood at the sink thinking:

Gurl, You Are Dino-Mite!

You can execute this idea in under 10 minutes. See how easy it is by watching this tutorial on Lonisa Mari YouTube. I show you how to tie the balloons and share the importance of loving your crew, not just on Valentine’s Day – but every day. Remember, that this idea can be executed outside of holidays. I like to switch out balloons monthly.
