The CVS Miracle: Flat Tire Faith

Have you ever been driving on the highway living your best life, when all of a sudden you feel:

If so, you know that’s not what you want to feel – especially when a snowstorm is setting in.

February 2022, my family and I found ourselves in this position.

I was in the front passenger seat when I felt the jolts. I immediately began to pray in the spirit as the driver pulled off the highway. Within a few minutes, we were parked in a shopping plaza accessing the problem. We had a:

on the right side. I was so thankful that we managed to get off the highway safely.

Immediately, the resourceful driver went to work on the tire. His steady and focused presence provided a much needed calm, especially with 3 young kiddos in the backseat. While the problem was being worked from that angle I was directed to call AMEX to inquire about our roadside assistant service. I rang the AMEX customer support only to discover that the:

It was getting darker outside, snow continued to fall, and the flat tire remained on the car.

There was a CVS in the plaza, so I grabbed the three kiddos from the backseat and went inside the store. In the CVS, I kept praying and asking God for help. I was telling God to not have us out here struggling…to help us.

I felt that another man was needed for this tire issue to be solved.

As I’m in the CVS walking around and asking God for help – I began to look at the people in the store. I’m evaluating them to see who I should ask for assistance. There was a larger framed man, that God told me to ask for help.

Now you may be wondering…how do you know it’s God talking to you? I know because usually I don’t want to do the action. I resist it.

I immediately was like, “No, not asking that man.”. I was nervous.

I decided to ask an:

who was overseeing the self-checkout lanes. He immediately responds, “No, I’m working the store.” It seems like right after I asked that, he made himself busier. Hilarious.

During this time the man God directed me to, left the store.

My companion joined us in the CVS letting me know that the tire was still on the car – I shared that I felt another hand was needed. A loved one responded, “There won’t always be another person.”. Although this may be true,

Not long after this conversation – the man that God told me to ask for help walked back into the store. He came up to us and said:

He shared that he felt led to ask. I immediately responded, “YES!”. I pretty much broke out into praise!

I excitedly told him “Thank you, God told me to ask you for help!”.

Living On God’s Overflow

As we walked outside of the CVS, I noticed he had a handyman like looking truck.

God began dealing with me about how he knows our hearts and skills.

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

The man, Levo, got to our car and we explained that the tire would not come off.

He immediately was like this tire…? and gave it a swift kick. The tire immediately:

Yassss!!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

Right in the parking lot, I began telling the kids – “… See! See! This is why we have to work our problems in the physical and spiritual! While doing what we can do, we need to also be praying.”.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Levo helped put on the spare tire and gave tips on tire changing.

Once the tire was on, he ran off to his truck. We were a little perplexed, but then he returned with a:

Levo began dusting the snow off our front windshield. Although, thankful, we let him know it was not necessary as we had a brush in the car. We looked in the car and get this – we did not have the brush with us!

To thank Levo for his kindness, I asked him if we could buy him some food or something. He declined, sharing that he was having stomach issues. It was then that God nudged me to pray with him. I didn’t want to do it (was nervous), but at this point I surrendered. I asked if I could pray for his stomach. He said, “Yes”. So right there in the parking lot I prayed for God to heal his stomach pains in Jesus name. Levo, did the cross sign at the forehead, then dipped out.

I got in the car amazed at God’s goodness, quickly noting this experience in my Google Keep to tuck it away in my God Sighting vault. Documenting testimonies helps me to remember God’s faithfulness when navigating future challenges arise. It’s like documenting my own personal Red Sea miracle.

As we drove out of the plaza, I looked up at the intersection sign. It read:

I was shooketh even more! God was confirming that he had us covered in the storm.

I praised him for protecting us on protection parkway!

I learned that if I’m going to ask for God’s help, that I should trust him enough to obey his direction. I also learned that God is merciful and will work with our timidity. He sent Levo back into the store to help us, when I disobeyed. That was God’s grace!

Whatever you face, I encourage you to invite God into your problem solving. Know that he wants to partner with you through every trial.

Pray Continually,

P.S. My family and I were on the highway headed to get something to eat. Due to the flat tire, our plans changed so we returned home. To our surprise, a neighbor blessed us with some home cooked food without us even asking or explaining our flat tire challenge. I took this as another sign of God’s care.
